I hope your well on your way to filling your stockings and buying all the presents you have on your list. Sometimes we have those gifts we just forget about until the last moment, or I know I have.
I have found that over the years we have become numb to the real meanings of all our holidays. The stores have numbed us into thinking we have to have our credit cards maxed out and spend money we do not have. We must eat certain things on certain holidays and wear the latest fashions even though they are really ugly! What ever happened to life? I mean really what are we doing? Life now is so fast paced that we even don’t have time for the children we so dreamed about in our daydreams.
I think we as a society should take back our holidays and buy presents that are well thought out for the ones we love. I spent September, October and November working on projects for my home and my family that truly represented my style and the style of the person I made things for. I had so much fun sewing for my family and friends. Johnnie and I went to Hancock Fabrics and chose fabrics that represented our family and their homes best. We had a great time picking fabrics for pot holders for our family and friends. We had a blast picking the style of apron I was going to sew for each person. I tried to choose something that represented who they were. Sometimes Johnnie and I didn’t agree on which apron to buy for who, so we made multiple purchases of apron styles. Now I have lots of apron patterns to sew for everyone. How fun it will be to sew all these aprons. I have made about 6 of the patterns I still have a few more to go.
Here are a few of the aprons I have made of the last few weeks. I have already gifted a few of the aprons and forgot to take pictures of them.
I have a couple more that I am working on haven’t had time to finish them. I will post pictures when they are finished.
I have also been blessed to be the proud new to me owner of two great sewing machines. Here are pictures of them. They are wonderful machines They are Cadillac machines! I have now sewn on the best machines made. Sewing is so much more fun. They were Christmas presents from my wonderful husband! Thank you so much Beaux, I love them!!!
